Born and raised in Dallas, Texas clay has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I remember at a very young age getting lost for hours with my oven-bake clay, making figurines that my parents still have some of. Even then, expressing myself with clay came naturally to me. It provided me with an outlet for my Piscean emotions that I could not find in anything else. I didn't give it much thought until I took a pottery class in high school and my passion was reignited. I then attended the University of Dallas where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in ceramics. Studying under master Dan Hammett, I was pushed to my limits and graduated with a much more comprehensive understanding of the ceramic process than I ever understood at the time.
Since then, I have gone on to work for Trinity Ceramic Supply and as a lab tech for Brookhaven Community College. In addition to providing additional experience with all of the technical aspects of the ceramic process, these jobs have allowed me to setup and operate a fully functioning studio from my house in Carrollton, Texas.
